Nothing but garbage DO NOT BUY
I have wasted two weekends of my life with this trash trying to get them to stay lit. They come on, they go off, they come on, they go off. I should add these are brand new this year out of the box. I am ready to just unplug all my decorations and say to heck with it. They also will not stretch out properly (they are supposed to be icicle lights). They stay all bunched up around the gutters. My advice is DO NOT BUY, they are just cheap trash. Mine will be going to the trash ASAP thus completing the Sino-American trade cycle. I would review these things with negative numbers if I could. Did I mention? DO NOT BUY!
Great incandescent icicle lights
I'd have rated these as 5-star if they were LED. But for incandescent lights, these are as good as it gets. "Heavy Duty" means the electric wires are thicker than the norm so you can safely daisy-chain more strings together (for really long runs you'll need LEDs). Note that the plugs are polarized so if you are stringing them along with older lights that have non-polarized plugs, these won't plug into the old ones, so it's best to start your run with the new ones. The electrician who installed my new outdoor electric outlet pointed out that these get warm enough to melt any ice that may form on the bulbs, whereas LEDs don't, so in some applications you may actually find these better than LEDs.
Overpriced- $12 for a 9' string. Seriously, who wants to decorate an average house with 9' strings of outdoor lights. Performance- All boxes failed either straight out of the box or within 2 hours of plug in. WM needs to pull these from their catalog and get a product that actually works. Unfortuantely, this is the only brand WM carried this year, so we couldn't even choose a different brand. Off to Home Depot for replacements. . .
they do NOT last = junk
my sister in law picked these up for me greatly discounted after Christmas two years ago - they were "great" the first year. This year - 3 out of 5 stings of the multi-colored lights do NOT work. when one bulb goes, part or all of the strand goes - very hard to pull the lights out and for the "larger' bulbs...i can't easily even get the outer colored shell off do NOT buy this junk. If i have time i'm bringing them back just on principal, i doubt i'll get anything back, but its not acceptable to be this poor. I even carefully wrapped and reboxed them
they do NOT last = junk
I bought 5 boxes of these lights for our house. One string didn't work at all, One string only 1/2 worked and the one string that does work has some lights out on it...haven't opened the other 2 boxes...these lights are junk. I will be returning all boxes and probably will end up skipping the outdoor lights all together this year. :(
