Cute idea, but not worth the $
I recently bought this because I love doing crafts and knew it would be an easy craft to do while spending time with my family. The quality of the material is not great. It is thin and stretches out/loses shape easily. It is very simple to do, as all you are doing is tying knots, so if you are buying this for a child, it is child friendly. However, don't expect it to become an heirloom because it will not hold up to frequent washing or wear. Cute idea, but lacking a quality fabric. I would not purchase again at this price, but if you found it on clearance, it's a cute craft for kids. Also, the blanket ends up being the size of a toddler blanket, not a full size blanket, just in case anyone was wondering.
Many of these kits have come out over the years and my granddaughter has loved them all. This seems to test their patience which I think is good for them to practice. I would recommend this.
Fun and relaxing for my fidgety 7y/o
I got this kit for my 7y/o who is still just a little immature to start sewing, but loves the quilting I do at home. I was surprised how big the quite is (even though I know if says it on the box) but still, it's a substantial blanket and not just a kid or baby sized quilt like other knot end blankets you see at the store. The instructions are useless - but here are some tips if you aren't already into quilting or knot quilting: 1) Take care that the "right sides" of the fabric match (the front and back of each square is different). 2) Lay out the squares in the color pattern with your child so they can visualize, then help them knot together 4 squares at a time 3) Smaller fingers may have a hard time with this kit, these are not big tie knots like stadium blanket fleeces Have fun and enjoy this kit. Enjoy color pattern selection (don't have to use the suggested pattern) and enjoy helping your child decide how the knots should show through on the top and bottom of the quilt. My daughter isn't done yet, else I'd leave a photo with the final product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Wal mart could of done a better job in shipping. All of three of my packages were in very poor condition. I would have sent them back but did not have the time, a little embarrassing to give gifts in destroyed boxes.
I purchased this for my granddaughter who will be 8 in July. We'll see how she likes and if it is easy enough to make the quilt
