I got it with one of the collars broken, I mean what kind of mishandling have they going to manage to break something like this
2 weeks, so far so good
I've only had these for about 2 weeks and am using them with 40-lbs each to do dumbbell presses. So far so good, the chrome hasn't started flaking off like it has on my hand-me-down curl bar. I think i've gotten my money's worth already. I bought these because of the negative comments about the gold's gym handles falling apart with use, since they're made of all metal, my thinking is that there's less to fail, but we'll see. I think i've already gotten my 10 dollars worth. I bought 2 of these at the $5 rollback price instead of buying the pair for $20, but i'm not sure if they're the same exact product. I'm still pretty new to lifting so I can't speak with a lot of experience, but I prefer the spin-locks to the clips on my hand-me-down set of dumbbell handles. the only thing I don't like at the moment is the handles seem a bit on the thin side, but maybe that's because I have big hands, so i'm wearing gloves to make them more comfortable.
Good product, great price
These are built for use and will do what they are designed for at a great price. They are not finely polished like a Snap-on wrench and the finish flakes off in spots. The rubber gaskets are cheap and will likely need to be replaced soon. There was even a few rust spots. They do hold a lot of weight and the spin locks hold the plates in place. If you are looking for something to show off what a great home gym you have you will want to spend more but if you are only concerned with building muscle these will do just fine. Bottom line- if you are more concerned with results than appearances, these are a great buy. If you are more concerned with looks and name brands then you don't need to buy these.
I've learned all these threaded dumbbells are the same and there is no need to pay $20/dumbbell when the ones for $6 are the same. Great deal, and I'm enjoying the use very much.
It's working out!
These bleats are used in the company's gym. They're better than the bars that have rubber grips and washers. The guys over tightened the last pair and just tore through the rubber washer. These are metal grips and working out better!
