- Additional Information
The Equate Delayed Release Tablet 20mg Acid Reducer Omeprazole, 42-Count, is used for treating frequent heartburn that occurs two or more days a week. It may take one to four days after use for the full effect to take place, so relief is not immediate. This heartburn acid reducer includes three bottles, each with 14-day courses of treatment.
- Equate Omeprazole Delayed Release Tablets 20 mg is a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI), the newest class of heartburn medications. PPIs actually deactivate the pumps in the stomach lining from producing acid, significantly inhibiting acid production (and its overproduction) at the source. PPIs are available over-the-counter or as a prescription to treat ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis. PPIs include store-brand Omeprazole Delayed Release Tablets, 20 mg (treats the same symptoms as Prilosec OTC) and Lansoprazole Delayed-Release Capsules, 15 mg (treats the same symptoms as Prevacid 24HR), to treat frequent heartburn that occurs two or more days per week. These products may take 1 to 4 days to work initially and are not indicated for immediate relief of frequent heartburn. Over-the-counter PPIs such as Omeprazole Delayed Release Tablets, 20 mg and Lansoprazole Delayed-Release Capsules, 15 mg should be used as a 14-day course of treatment every four months. You should not take PPIs for more than 14 days unless directed by your doctor.
- Indications: Treats frequent heartburn occurring two or more days a week.
works for me the same as prilosec.
Wal-Mart has the lowest price available for a 42 tablet supply of Omeprasole of any pharmacies I've checked, and I've checked them all. Having them delivered to my home was wonderful and so incredibly convenient. I'll never buy them any other way or from anywhere else.
have had heart attack and have acid reflux...prilosec was recommended and heart dr said use this...same thing...and it is and so much less expensive...i have not had an attack and i have been using it for 4 years...i highly recommend this as it is exactly the same as prilosec...just not paying for name...
Works as well as the brand name
Why pay the cost of the brand name when you get the same thing for a LOT less. I'd recommend this to everybody.
Prilosec at half the cost
Another generic that works just as well as branded and a fraction of the cost.
