Very hard to install

My filter is actually MWF. Supposed to align arrow with the arrow on the filter holder but there is no arrow on the filter holder. Struggled to get it installed but once it was installed water would not run. Waiting for GE appliance repair!

Works great

I bought this item about a month ago and it still has two months to go. It is working great. I am signed up automatically to receive one every three months. Saves me time and money.

Purchased and tried many other aftermarket filters, including "Green" (coconut fiber) replacement filters. Nothing compares to original equipment!!! The main problem with aftermarkets is the sealing ability so filter does not leak. There is a reason for patents, so other companies can't copy your product. Hence, aftermarket designs, can't copy design tolerances causing that aftermarket to not fit exactly as intended. After my last attempt of trying a "Green" filter and having my refrigerator damaged and flooded because of an improper rubber gasket seal. Pay the few extra bucks for original equipment. It will save a lot of aggravation. For GE, one of the main reasons why you pay extra for a certified original equipment, is because it is rigorously tested and certified to remove certain chemicals, contaminants, and pharmaceuticals from your water. Simply said: "You Get What You Pay For".

Doesn't work as expected

The original filter that came in our refrigerator when we bought it worked very well. Water tasted good. Ordered a replacement filter and flushed 3 gallons of water out after installing new filter. Water tasted fine. After a few days the water had a plastic taste to it. Yuck! We stopped using it. After several weeks I called and the customer service sent out a one time free replacement which I really appreciated. I installed the new filter and did as before, flushing out 3 gallons of water. Water tasted good. Then after a few days water started tasting plasticky again. I decided to dispense out more water, and then the water tasted better. I have decided that if we don't use the filtered water very often, then it needs to have a few cups of water dispensed and then the water will taste better. Sounds crazy but that is what has happened. What I don't understand is that the original filter that came with the new refrigerator did not have this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

The water filter is leaking and I ordered it directly from this sight using the bar code
