To preface I am coming from a 12 year old Conair straightener. I think it was $15 in 2004. So most modern hair straighteners are a large improvement :). I bought this product based on price and reviews (it was the best rated for the price range. Plus it was on an extra discount for black Friday!) I couldn't exactly afford a $70 CHI, but I knew I wanted something far more advanced than my current straightener. I have short, very fine dirty-blonde hair that has a slight wave (just enough to give me a weird upward "swoop" in my bangs. I bought this for it's size (1" is better for my short hair), protective ceramic coating, and "One Pass" straightening. So far, it has delivered on all aspects! The whole "one pass/ 24 hour hold" may not work on thicker or curlier hair. However, I think it will still work with a couple of passes. The straightener is great: light weight, rapid heat up, great hold all day, and no damage (that I've noticed yet). I absolutely recommend this product, but keep in mind I am a novice in the beauty area.
Best flat iron I have ever used!
This flat iron is by far the best. It works perfectly on my hair without making it look dry and damaged. I actually think it looks healthier after using it. Would definitely recommend to everyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
RUINED MY HAIR - DO NOT BUY
I used a CHI straightener for years until it finally broke down. I decided to go ahead and get this one because I didn't feel like spending the money on a new CHI. HUGE mistake!!! This straightener has literally FRIED my hair in just a few short weeks of use. I used to use my CHI DAILY without problems and now this straightener has ruined my hair in a matter of weeks. Ordered a new CHI today and I will be returning this straightener for a refund immediately. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
Awesome straighter. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend this flat iron. This Ceramic straightener is AWESOME. I have VERY coarse hair and I thought I needed to put the temperature at the highest level (because that's what I have to do with other flat iron's) and I burned my hair. So make sure you flat iron your hair on maybe 20 degrees first to see how much temperature your hair can handle. I only had to go through my hair once for it to straighten and it lasted 4 days without getting frizzy. Therefore, if you want your hair to look like you just left the salon, this is the straightener for you.
Easy to use
I've never used a flat iron before so I did quite a bit of research before choosing this one. I like that it has an on/off switch and heats up very quickly. It has adjustable heat settings as well. Some hair needs higher heat than others. I try to use the minimum heat that works for me.
