The Absolute Best!!
This is the best hair straightener I have ever owned! I had one a few years ago that accidentally broke and I immediately went and purchased the same one and didn't think twice about it! I have really thick hair and the 2" plate straightens so much easier and faster. It heats up quick and makes my hair super straight! I've tried many straighteners before but is my favorite by far!
Good product, No instructions.
After looking at several models of flat irons in the store, I bought this one, Remington model S7330. My local Walmart had 4 boxes of this model. Three of the boxes had been opened, but I found one that had not been tampered with. I still took off one star from my rating, because to begin with, there were NO INSTRUCTIONS inside the box. I had never used a flat iron before, and instructions are nice when using a product for the first time. The outside of the box says there are 30 different heat settings and the highest setting is 420 degrees. The knob on the flat iron is numbered from 1-30, but no where does it say what the temperatures are, and no instructions to direct as to which settings to use for different hair textures, wet or dry. I saw on another website review that you should use lower settings for fine hair, which I have. I also read on a review from a person with very thick coarse hair that she needed a higher setting than she had been using to achieve totally straight hair. Finally, I found the instruction pamphlet online. I've included the link below. It says wet hair use settings 1-20, damp hair use settings 20-25 and wet hair use settings 25-30. The first time I used it, my hair had been up in a towel for about 15 minutes and was still slightly damp. I started it on setting 10, and went up to 15. I ran it over my hair once or twice. It finished the drying process and straighten my hair very nicely. It feels strong, smooth and has a nice shine to it. Before drying/straightening my hair, I also applied some John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength Effects Serum to dripping wet hair. That seems to work very nicely with this flat iron, and is supposed to protect against heat damage. Over all I'm happy with this purchase so far. I just wish they had included the instruction sheet so I didn't have to hunt on the internet for it and print it out myself.
Transformation for your Hair
The Remington Wet2Straight is the answer to my hair straightening needs. Your hair takes forever to grow out. The last thing we want is for a flat iron to damage our prized tresses and ruin the months of growth time. The Remington Wet2Straight allows me to straighten my hair daily without the worry of split ends and damage. Design: Rating 5/5 The flat iron is designed to be just the right width within your hands. It is easy to hold onto with losing grip strength. It is lightweight. I am able to hold my arms above my head for extended periods without tiring. The power on/off and temperature button on the inside of the wand which allows you to style your hair without bumping the button and accidently turning it off or changing the temperature without knowing. It also exhibits a swivel cord attachment so that you are not tangled in the cord while using. Ceramic Titanium Plates: Rating 5/5 The plates are 1 ¾“ which allows a great surface area for your hair. You are able to straighten a nice chunk of hair versus only tiny strands that I have seen with other brands. The combination of ceramic and titanium offers the best of both world of even heating, durability and protection for your hair. Ease of Use: Rating 5/5 Super easy to use. Plug it in and push the power button up to turn it on. Allow at least 30 seconds for the unit to heat up. A flashing button next to the power will flash unit ready for use. Section your hair. Begin at the roots and slide the hair between the plates at a steady rate of speed while clamping the two plates together. Allow your heat to cool off before touching. Level of Heat: Rating 5/5 The flat iron offers 30 heat settings. Use lower heat settings if your hair is more damaged. I love the higher settings as my hair is very thick and more difficult to straighten. The high levels allow me to straighten my hair with one pass of the iron. Wet Styling: Rating 5/5 I prefer this styling method as it produces a super shine and radiant look on my hair. Never would I have thought you could use a flat iron while wet as I feared electrocution. This flat iron is completely safe to use on wet hair. I slightly dry my hair with a blow dryer leaving it damp. I section my hair and straighten in small groups. You will steam and may hear a slight sizzle but your hair is completely safe. You are hearing the water evaporate. This flat iron is wonderful at drying and styling at the same time. Dry Stying: Rating 5/5 You can feel the protection on your hair while you are styling. Use the Dry method with no heat protection and you still style with no worries of damage. The plates allow for a smooth iron with no damage to your hair. Auto Shutoff: Rating 5+++/5 Everyone has left home and wasn’t sure if you turned off the flat iron. Worry no more as the Remington Wet2Straight automatically turns off after 60 minutes of non use. This is surely a highly rated factor for me in the buying decision. The Remington Wet2Straight is an innovative product that excels above the rest. We can now straighten our hair perfectly without the worry of added damage. I received this product free as part of the Spectrum Brands First Look Program in exchange for an honest review. Transformation for your Hair
Not what I thought it would be. My bad. I thought 1 3/4"
Talk about 'Bang for your Buck!' This is a heavy duty straightener. It has a dial for heat level (it gets very hot) and a nice wide flat iron face. I have naturally thick, wavy hair, so I was looking for a wider iron, as not to take so long to straighten my hair. This does the trick. My hair is right to my shoulders. It takes about 25 minutes to straighten it but, once it's done, it's done. Just like today, I slept on my straightened hair; did a quick 5 minute touch up, and was good to go. I highly recommend this product!.
