Creamy, smooth drawing pencils

Great price for these colored pencils. They blend fairly well and glide across the paper rather than dragging like the usual color pencils for kids & adults. That being said, I only gave it 4 stars on account of the actual colors. There is no cream, magenta, dark hunter green like you would find in the everyday name brand of colored pencils. So I do occasionally use one of those colors out of an old set. White is great for lightening and blending colors a bit. I use Carmine Red then blend with White to get a pinkish-coral color. Terra Cotta is my favorite; put it on lightly and it gives a nice lt tan, a little darker and you get a true terra cotta color and I use it sharpened for light shading on edges. While waiting for your pencils to arrive, find a craft store and get a small metal pencil sharpener in an artist grade......works best for sharpening and not eating away your nice, soft lead pencil. I use my pencils for adult coloring books, but did tole paint for many years so I'm used to shading and blending and am a bit picky about my colors.

Huge waste of money.

I bought these colored pencils for myself, to use in adult coloring books. Previously I was using my kids crayola color erase pencils. They are very soft pencils and don't hold a good point. The colors are also very soft. The colors in these pencils are very bold, which is the only good thing about them. I didn't have to press hard to get a good bold color either. The huge problem - they won't sharpen. I just got them about an hour ago, and already my blue is about 3 inches long - not from coloring, from trying to sharpen. I used 3 different sharpeners, thinking one may not have been sharp enough and that was the problem, it wasn't. I would sharpen a couple turns, and the end would fall off. I never got an actual point. When I finally got it sharpened enough the color was showing out of the wood, the color was great, but it wouldn't last. Definitely wouldn't buy again, and definitely wouldn't recommend.

The Prismacolor colored pencils are nice to work with. I intend to order more of them. I have recommended them to other adults for coloring.
