Recommended by manufacturer; maintains warrantee

The dealerships often charge $75 to $100 for a Mobil1 synthetic oil change. Purchasing it from Walmart and doing it myself was appx a quarter of the price. Good value...

1997 Chevy Tahoe LT 5.7 Vortec V8

I got my Tahoe from a co-worker who was the only owner of the vehicle back in 2012. It had about 125,000 miles on it at the time. He told me he changed the oil with nothing but Mobile 1 when he handed keys. I didn't realize the weight of that statement at the time. I've been going to a local Oil Changer spot here in my neighborhood for years who's been using North American Lubricants for their oils. It took time of using their conventional oils when I started to notice that the engine ran hotter and I was losing about 2 to 2.5 qts between oil changes every 3k. I started to hear a tapping coming from either the valve lifters or something in the engine not getting proper lubrication. Long story short, I switched to Mobile 1 recently, no more engine heat, no more tapping noise and never going back to any other oil. It's at 198,000 miles now and I know I can get another 100,000 out her if I stick to Mobile 1...oh yes thanks Wal-Mart for having great prices on this.

No more 3500 changes

I am not sure why people post 3000-3500 mile oil changes on synthetic oil reviews as they are only wasting their money. I've used this syn Mobil or Full synthetic Amsoil for years and never changed my oil under the recommended 7500 mile change period on our Infiniti & Land Cruiser engines. Both run like brand new and never burn any oil and I have ran Mobil extended 15,000 mi oil to 10k several times. Too scared to go 15k myself but 12k I'm comfortable there. The whole reason behind running syn vs dino oil is to extend our oil intervals. Stop tossing your money out the window folks...Read your car manual on 2000 up vehicles you will see most are 7500 mi intervals now & not 3000 as it's now very well known that most any non syn oil will go 5000 anyway....We where just lied to about 3000 intervals to get money from us for decades. Relax and let her run on up there....

Great oil for Triton V-8's

My Ford F-150 with the 5.4 litre Triton V-8 started getting noisy. I read that the valve train is susceptible to failure on account of lubricant problems. I switched from conventional oil to Mobile 1 synthetic, 5w30 wt. The engine quieted on start up, and smoothed out. I also always use Motorcraft oil filters since new. I have driven approximately 500 miles since the change over. The engine is quiet and smooth. I am satisfied that the Mobile 1 synthetic oil solved my noisy engines problem. Thanks Walmart for having affordable products, so convenient too! I am, HappyDayze, from Washington :)

Winter...

Try this experiment. Take some Mobil 1 10w30 and some dino oil like Castrol 10w30 and put them in like sized small jars in your freezer. After a day or so take them out and turn them over. The Mobil 1 will flow like it's a summer day and the 'dino' oil will flow like cold molasses. This is representative of what happens to the oil in your car during the winter. Ever notice the 'oil' indicator light stays on a bit longer when it's cold? Protect your engine. This is the best oil for any temperature extreme. At a decent price too!
