Good for apartment

This is a small lightweight upright that would be suitable for an apartment or small house. I say this because the sweep width is not very wide and the canister to hold the dirt is small. I had the canister half full after vacuuming one room. I have a dog and three cats so my house has lots of pet hair. The vacuum has two onboard tools which are super easy to hook up and use. I used the brush to vacuum a chair which had a lot of cat hair on it. Not all of the hair was removed. I also used this vacuum on vinyl and tile floors. It works fine on those and is very easy to maneuver. If I had a smaller house with no pets, this vacuum would certainly do the job. However I don't recommend it for someone with a house full of carpet or someone with pets. I also own Dyson and Eureka uprights. Those models have filters which should be removed and cleaned. This Dirt Devil requires you to purchase a new filter when it gets too dirty. I do not like that idea. I do not wish to be purchasing replacement filters.

Great Compact Vacum

I chose this vacum because Dirt Devil has been around for a very long time and I knew the quaility would be there. This is a Great little vacum! Bagless, Glided under my coffee tables easily with no problem (almost flat) loved that! Easy to Push & Pull across my Berber carpet and transferred easily to my tile Ceramic Tile floor.I I also found that it was easy to get in smaller spaces too. Very long Power Cord is a Big Plus. The suction is very good also even when you switch to OnBoard Tools. I found when switching to tools it was so easy, one little click and your done. Large see thru canister for emptying dirt and that is easy to pop out and pop back in . Easy clean filters too. Comes with a manual..This is a lightweight vacum with a handle you can carry it from room to room, really convienent vacum. I would buy this vacum without hesitation! It tackles all the necessary jobs i need vacum my floors and furniture and it did and really good job and I was Pleased!

Good POWERFUL vacuum

This vacuum is very cute, red and black. Assembly was easy; place the handle into the designated spot on top, screw the screw in place, two attachments get placed right on the designated spot on the handle, then the vacuum hose move into the designated spot locks, clicks into place. The vacuum is ready to use. Plug in the extension cord and then step on the foot peddle on the bottom to start it. Vacuums fantastically, very powerful, picks up everything off my carpet and floor, gets everything off the corners, moves smoothly, glides with no effort. It is nice and light but surprisingly strong. For a vacuum that is so cute and kind of small I was very pleased that it has so much vacuum power and works so easily. I really like it. Very easy to empty the removable washable dust container. You do not need bags. It is easy to store, as it does not need a lot of space. It is a lot less noisy than my old one. I'm really pleased with this vacuum. I recommend it highly. The only thing I would suggest; is to make the extension cord longer.

Light weight!

The PROS of this vacuum: it is really light weight, powerful suction, works great on tile, it’s bagless, you can see through the canister to know when it’s full, nice hand formed handle, it comes with a brush & small crevice attachments, I enjoy the red color. The CONS of this vacuum: it’s not a very smooth running vacuum it doesn’t glide as nicely as others & takes some umph to turn it about, the cord is short but this is for small spaces so don’t expect a super long cord, lastly this bad boy is LOUD with a high pitched type of squeal to it. No I don’t think it’s defective. OVERALL: would I recommend it to someone who needs a cheap vacuum that does the job? YES, if you need a vacuum with out wanting to spend $100’s of dollars then this will work AND it will get the job done! If you need something for hardwood or tile floors this works for that as well.

A lot for so little!

The Dirt Devil Power Express Bagless Upright Vacuum (UD20120) that I got from Spark Reviewer is awesome for what it’s intended for. Don’t expect it to work like a heavy-duty full-size vacuum. This is for small spaces like dorms or apartments, or for quick cleanups. If you have a large home this is absolutely great as a secondary vacuum for a quick clean. Weighing less than 9 lbs. stairs are no problem. The 11” cleaning path with a brush and good suction, really does a good job on carpeting. Onboard is a hose and two tools; an upholstery brush and a crevice tool. The hose quickly disconnects from the vacuum with the push of a button, allowing you to attach a tool for quick use on the go. The dirt cup comes off with the push of a button and opens for easy emptying, also with the push of a button. The vacuum transitions well from carpet to hard floors. The only problem I had was in vacuuming up cat litter that was tracked on the floor. It tended to scatter some of it. I found that either going slow or using the hose to clean it up solved that problem. I definitely recommend this vacuum for what it’s intended. It’s a great value!
