Great toy for a Star Wars lover!

My 11 year old loved putting this together and playing with it. He loves that he can switch out the light to make it whatever color he wants. Even purple!

Meh, it's okay I guess.

I bought this as a small xmas "filler" gift for my husband since he loves star wars and the science behind light-sabers. The little paper that comes with the toy to explain how light-sabers work in the movies/show and how they relate to lasers and plasma is filled with inaccuracies (as far as lore of the series and real world science goes). Anyway, it's fun to switch out the little colored lights, but beware that there are a lot of very small and easy to loose parts.

losing pieces :(

This lightsaber is very small. But I knew the size, as I made this purchase in person at the store. I think the small size is great for a little padawan (almost age 6) on the go! I like that my little padawan can change the color, in theory anyway. Sadly the little color "crystals" (as we call them, but they're really just cheap plastic) fall out so easily. We happen to have a small tin just perfect for storing the crystals when not in use, but the crystal inserted in the lightsaber falls out way too easily. Thankfully my young padawan leans only toward the light side and prefers to use only the blue, so we've taped it in place. It's totally kludgy but it'll work, at least for now. We've also had the clear plastic saber part fall out of the handle, in the middle of an action scene, which wasn't particularly intense. Thankful I spent less than $10 on this. It's very cheaply made.

The Perfect Gift for this Occasion

My husband is a huge Star Wars fan and I purchased this as a gift for our 15th (crystal) wedding anniversary. He loves it! He wants to buy another that he will not open to add to his Star Wars collection.
