Good Buy

Really compact yet holds 4 slices. Heats quickly and makes good toast! Only one complaint which is: the knobs are poorly labeled with very small print, nearly unreadable, Other then that great oven! and cheap too

Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven

Bought it after my years old toaster gave out and I like to broil my steaks, chops etc and thought I'd give a toaster oven a try to save on oven electric and cleaning ease. I've only had it for two weeks. To use it for toast I've found that I need to use a separate timer because it is difficult to set the knob on the unit for the right amount of time as the settings markers which are pictures are not very precise and the toast has come out with varying degrees of how I want it. Did a T-bone steak and while I had to guess at the time by looking at the steak, it did a good job of broiling it. Clean up is not difficult for the three parts but spills from another item on the lower heating element required using SOS pad which I'm not sure is the right thing to do on it since cleaning instructions only say use a soapy cloth or sponge. As to continued reliability or continued good cooking I cannot say since its still too new and not used that often to give a real rating so I gave it Average as used so far.

Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven

This toaster oven is fairly compact in size and light. It does work well toasting, baking, and warming. It also has a broil and bagel setting. One of my critiques would be that it is a bit complicated initially, if you have never had one before. There are three different knobs. The top one to set the temperature, ranging from "warm" to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. The center knob allows one to set the function - broil, bagel, bake, warm, and toast. The bottom knob is the timer. When the timer is turned to the chosen time, it ticks for the duration of the selected time until it is done, and goes "Bing!" This toaster oven comes with a pan, a rack, and the bottom crumb tray can be removed and cleaned easily. For the price, this is a decent item. Takes a bit to get used to, and the ticking sound can be annoying.

Perfect and great price

I love this toaster oven! The first thing I noticed was that, unlike previous toaster ovens I've had, this one didn't emit those toxic VOC smells when you turned it on. (I've had to run other toasters for months before the smells would disappear). That alone was worth the price, but I also really like the features: the ability to move the rack up or down, the removable crumb tray (yea!) and safety feature on the bottom knob to keep you from accidentally turning it to the "always on" setting. And, of course, it works great and does just what you "tell" it to do. If I had one critique, it's that the numbers around the knobs could have more contrast so they were easier to see with these old eyes, but it's not a big deal.

Excellent inexpensive toaster oven.

I prefer this model over Black and Decker of about the same price. The door shuts tightly, the cord is 110 and does not strike the back of the unit dangerously, and the knobs rotate without forcing backwards. A much preferable model.
