Nice but large shred pieces.

Depending on what your are expecting, this could be a disappoint based on how large the shed pieces end up being. You can read the data on pieces. Good for home but I can not use it for work documents. I plan on composting the shredded material so it will work for me. Looks like a Level 4 shredder based on

I love this shredder it work so good.

Sturdy replacement

After my last Aurora shredder died after 14 years of consistent use, I decided to stay with Aurora again to see if I could get another 14 year shredder. This model has a heavy, sturdy feel and the extra safety feature of a toggle open cover, nice in a house with curious dogs. It has an easy hand-hold to lift the top off to empty the bin. I like the open bin better than a slide-out, seems to hold more before emptying. The little window is a nice extra to monitor the bin paper level. So far, it has eaten six pages at once very easily, have not tried the max and probably won't push it. The cross cuts are short (about 1-2") pieces compared to my previous long cut shredder. During shipping to Walmart, the little bin window was broken. I called Aurora customer support and they immediately sent a replacement window, so I did not need to hassle with a return to Walmart and delay of a complete replacement. It was a one minute repair with a screwdriver to easily swap the windows. Good customer service from Aurora!

Excellent Product

This shredder works great at my office! I love that is cuts paper into smaller pieces than traditional shredders for an even more sense of security. It is on wheels which makes it easy to move from under my desk when I need it. Simple to use. I have only shredded papers, about 10 sheets at once, and it works like a charm. For my everyday use at the office it is definitely worth the price! Easy to remove the shredding top part (though it is a bit heavy) and empty the bin, the bin itself is very light weight and the side window makes it easy to see when it is starting to get full. The bin is a good size and I only have to empty it once or twice a week but I guess that depends on how much you are shredding on a regular basis. I am not sure how well it shreds credit cards or CD's but works great with paper. It is a bit loud when it is shredding but that is expected. Great product, definitely recommend it!

Aurora 12 sheet shredder

My Aurora shedder I had for 18 yrs finally broke so I bought this one hoping it would shred just the same. The strips seemed wider, though they weren't long strips they were still a good size that they could be put back together. Which I didn't like when shredding important papers. The credit card goes in the long way so when I shredded two cards (one at a time) I was able to see the numbers good in the strips and put it together to see the whole numbers. I didn't like that. I then cut another card, first using scissors to cut across numbers and name so they would come out smaller when put through the shredder. It was better but why hassle every time I'm shredding a card, when I bought a shredder to do that. Other reviewers liked how it shredded but I'd rather have one that shreds smaller for better privacy. I returned it and I'm going to buy a Micro cut shredder.
