You were my best friend. You were always there for me when I had a problem…When I was just tired and needed someone…When I’m exhausted and lazy, you kept me company through the hours of homework after school. I’d see you everyday and I’d smile when I held you, just knowing that you would help me through it all. And now? You’re gone. You’ve left me and I’m lost. We were like two peas in a pod. We understood each other’s needs and you always provided me with the solution to all of my problems. Let it be addition and subtraction or square roots and trigonometric functions, I could always count on you, Texas Instruments Ti-30XIIS. You will forever be my favorite calculator in the whole entire world. Ever since the first day I laid eyes on you in seventh grade, you caught my eye from a distance as I was strolling through Wal-Mart. I CHOSE you. And you'd chosen me. RIP Ti-30XIIS (2007-2011)
What more can you want for so little $$
I'm buying my second one, my first one lasted over eight years. Bought my first one before I started college and now I'm an engineer and use it a couple of times a week. It does all basic math functions, trig in degrees/radians, plus 1 and 2 variable statistical calculations. Most professors allow it's use on tests (unlike many graphing calcs). Scientific, engineerng and floating notation. Has more than one memory slot (five). Has 2-line 10 digit display and gives you backspace, insert and other nice functions so you don't have to "start over" when entering long problems. Solar with battery back-up when there isn't enough light. Overall exceptional calculator for about 15 dollars. What more can you ask for?
Totally Worth Buying It
So i first bought this calculator when i was going into middle school, i really didn't know what to expect from it, i was 11 and i principally got it because it was blue ( my favorite color). I've had it for about 7 years and it has always worked for everything i have ever needed it for, it's great, and easy to use and understand, i have never loved another calculator as much as I've loved that one. Recently it stopped working (but i can't complain, i got 7 years out of it) so i started using other calculator, friends would lend me theirs but i couldn't help but feel that i couldn't work with it, i don't know, maybe it was just my subconscious because I've used this other one such a long time. I decided to buy it again just because, as i said before, i love it so much. Now that im going off the collage i think its also going to be a good investment because i'm studying to be an engineer and i know this calculator will help me along the way.
I found the Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS Scientific Calculator, that I recently purchased for my son, to be a really good buy. It gets the basic job done, including calculations needed for pre-Algebra/Basic Algebra. And the calculator's operation guide provides instructions for its use that are fairly easy to follow!
I gave this as a gift to my friend, and he uses it all the time. It is a huge improvement from one-line calculators because you can see what you type in, and can catch and correct mistakes early. The calculator is very user-friendly.
