Cheap plastics, horrible quality, but does the job

I used to have the previous generation of this but had to buy a new one when I lost the original. The image shown on this page is the previous generation, but I believe you get the new one shipped to you since TI doesn't make the old one anymore. You can search the internet for what the new one looks like. It is redesigned and the build quality is so much worse, it feels like it would break as soon as it falls. The BA II Plus is the must have calculator for almost any finance related course, so there really is no way out of using it. This does the job of a financial calc, but I would recommend searching the used market for the older generation before you decide to buy the inferior quality of this new version.

Cheap plastics, horrible quality, but does the job

Basic math is great in that you have the choice of chain arithmetic (using the functions in the order that they appear) or using math priority (multiplication & division 1st) but the unit I ordered failed on this model's purpose: calculating a payment. It returned a result $25 more than an older model and my smart phone gave. Not veddy goot.

This is great if you're studying for the actuary exams.

It's a calculator

What can you say about a calculator? It does what it is supposed to do....it calculates. I needed this one for a finance class. I couldn't find one on the shelf anywhere in town, so I looked at several online retailers, and Walmart was the least expensive. They didn't have one in stock, but the ship to store option was next day. Great service! As far as a review of the calculator...I haven't had it very long, but so far, it works perfectly. I can't speak to the longevity of the battery. I think it uses a button-type battery. There is not a battery door on the back. It looks like 4 screws need to be removed to access/replace the batt. Solar power feature would have been nice. That's all I got. It's a calculator, and it works well.
