Lot's of Fun, Basic Functionality

Overall using the Shopkins Disco Ball Karaoke machine was fun and easy. There are some features and functionality I wish it had but it works well and serves it's purpose. + The unit is light-weight and the color of the unit is fun and playful. - Although the unit is light-weight, it's constructed of very light plastic so I have some concerns about how well it will hold up with kids, moving it around, being dropped, etc. + The hand-grips on the side make it easy to carry and move around. + Microphone is pretty heavy-duty and weighted making it easy and comfortable to hold. + The speaker sound is clear and the volume produced from the unit is good. Typical master volume level was 3/4 of max for my best results and easy listening/hearing. + Free CD-G with songs comes with the unit so that you can get started singing along immediately. Songs on the CD are not necessarily what you would expect to sing along to - they were not very popular songs so not as fun to sing to. + Unit comes with audio/video cables for connection to the television for lyric display. - Most people will not use the CD upon immediate setup since music on phones and devices is common. I was disappointed that the unit did not come with the auxiliary cable since it came with the audio/video cable. ===== SETUP ===== Setup was pretty easy. Just plugin the AC adapter and microphone, insert the free cd and push play. ===== FUNCTIONALITY ===== + Disco ball is fun - lights change shapes subtly and flicker making it fun in the dark. Lights are really bright so you can see them in the daytime too. + Lights from the disco ball fill the ceiling and walls at counter height. - Disco ball only puts off blue light - would have been better if you could select the light color or have a rainbow of colors that it cycled through. - Power indicator on the microphone does not work even though there appears to be an indicator light. + There are several adjustments that can be made to the various functions: echo, microphone volume, master volume and AVC. + Output to the TV was is simple to setup and easy to connect with the audio/video cables. - No true voice-over - you can still clearly her vocals on the CD when singing. - When the auxiliary cable is connected, that is the only source that you can play - you cannot select between auxiliary or CD + Unit has a digital display for the CD track number which is helpful. ===== USABILITY ===== - Phone holder is relatively small and may only fit regular iPhones or Blackberrys - the unit will not fit a Samsung Galaxy or iPhone Plus. - No phone will fit with any type of case on. + iPad shelf is ok - it will hold the iPad, but will not secure it. + Microphone cord is long making it east to sign away from the unit - The unit has a microphone holder which is good to keep it with the machine, but does not offer a cord holder or any way to maintain the cord to keep it out of the way. I bought this online for my granddaughter as a Christmas present. My granddaughter could not hear her own voice. The music drown out the vocals. After several attempts to adjust the volume control, nothing worked. We returned the unit. It was cute as a button, but functioned poorly for the price. The bluetooth worked. The disco ball worked fine.

Not good

Box was torn and speaker buzzed when you talked thru it. Distorted sound. ( not the echo adjustment)

Would buy again

Good product and sound quality

Broken after 1 day

It worked, looked great and my daughter loved it, she was ready to show off her singing and moves on Christmas night and the microphone didn't work! Very disappointing, it was not cheap, but apparently cheaply made.
