Good Product for Little Dogs

I tried Beneful Dried food for dogs because, i used to buy the same product for his wet food . They are very good and my dog likes them. What can i say. For his treats i buy Alpo, Pedigree and Purina products. And, honestly, where else you can buy cheap products for dogs, only at WALMART. You can compare everything, is really half of the price of the SAME products from Vons, Ralphs and Petco. I dont care if my place is in Santa Monica and i have to go all the way to Panorama City just to shop at my favorite store WALMART every 15days for anything we need. IT'S WORTH IT.

My Pets Love It

My pets love it but my wallet does not. While although the pet feed is of good making, the cost is too expensive for me to buy it regularly.

Begging Pooch

We care a lot about what we eat and sometimes don't even care about our 4 legged companion. I know I always had the occasional struggle with my dog to eat. He didn't like the food , and now I can say I don't blame him . I decided to sample new food with my dog, and I saw a free sample for Beneful, and I was like sure why not? So I received a free sample of this dog food in the mail, and honestly I was shocked. At first i gave my dog 2 kibble pieces to taste it and as reluctant as he was he sniffed and tasted it , and for some reason now he is hooked. The kibble smells good, the size of the kibble is not difficult for my dog to chew and swallow, and unlike our old big bag store branded dog food, Purina's Beneful Beef originals smelled authentic, it didn't smell like the store brand I buy, it smells real, and all credit due it has to do a lot with it's natural ingredients. At the end of the day I was left with an empty bowl, and a begging pooch. I now know about the product and I'm happy to say I'll recommend it to all my dog owning friends. Needless to say bye-bye store brand, and hello Beneful. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Poor Quality

I fed this to my Shih Tzu for a very short period of time. I was reassured by the fresh ingredients in the pictures, and the "real meat as 1st ingredient" header, that this was a good food. I was wrong. The first thing i dislike about Beneful is that real meat isnt ACTUALLY the first ingredient. When measured, the meat is raw, containing about 70% water weight. After being cooked and processed, the "real meat" will actually fall about 20th on the ingredient list, making whole grain corn (red flag) number one. Not to mention the 4th ingredient is chicken by-product meal, a rendered product of slaughterhouse waste. At the bottom of this very long list of cheap fillers, you will find yellow 5, red 40, and blue 2. These are what make those "chewy meaty bites" actually look like meat, only to fool us the owners. The dogs don't see the dyed kibble, so what is the need to put these harmful dyes in there. Bottom line, Beneful is a plant-based dog food using a moderate amount of low-quality by-products as its main source of meat protein. There are other economical options for your dog, with way more moralistic ingredients,
